Lasso Service

The Lasso Service provides the services that you would traditionally call “EDI”. These include Data Transformation; (also known as mapping), Data Storage, Document Formatting, and a Communications Protocol layer. When grouped together as a whole, they represent everything you need to securely transmit virtually any type of document (file) between you and your customer.

There is data that your customer wants to give you as it relates to their system and processes. However, most often there are differences between your needs and the needs of your customer with respect to that data. This process of manipulating that data involves creating a “map” that acts as a bridge between you and your customer’s data.

An EDI expert at Lasso Technologies will work with you to understand what is necessary to mutually satisfy yours and your customer’s data requirements. This person will talk with you to understand what it is you need, and will also talk to your customer on your behalf to understand their needs if you would like.

Once this is done, a map will be created and then installed on the server. The Data Transformation process will be able to use this map for you to send and receive messages through the system. In doing so, the systems and processes are satisfied for both sides of the transaction.

Our servers are available at all times to send or receive electronic messages. Although your company may receive real-time messages if you have a “no downtime” in-house server, it is not necessary. This is because the messages are stored in a database on our server for a period of time. This Data Storage is done using an industry-standard, enterprise database that is periodically backed up to secure your data.

When you receive your data via your browser, email, fax, etc., it will be formatted to your criteria using the Document Formatting component of the Lasso Service. If you have the need for a specific report to be appear a certain way for example, or an order or label to print out to your specifications (if you even choose to use paper), the formatting can be tailored specifically for you.

And of course, Lasso Technologies uses all of the industry-standard EDI Communications Protocols. This gives both you and your customer many choices for transmitting data. These protocols offer a secure way to send and receive order data that is both authenticated and encrypted.

You or your customer can send standard automotive document types (DELJIT/DELFOR/DESADV/830/862/etc.) through the system using AS2, FTP, or HTTP protocols. This can be done directly, but the messages can also be delivered by way of a value-added network (VAN) if you or your customer so choose.
